Job description

MissionHires is recruiting a Senior Construction Project Engineer for Martin/Martin’s Lakewood, CO office. This role leads civil/site development projects across Colorado’s Front Range and nationally, combining hands‑on design (AutoCAD/Civil3D), project management, client communication, and team mentorship. Ideal candidates are self‑starters with strong technical depth, proven PM experience, and Colorado PE (or ability to obtain within 3 months).

Responsibilities
  • Assist with master planning and conceptual civil/site design
  • Support fee determination and proposal preparation
  • Monitor and manage design budgets and project schedules
  • Serve as primary point‑of‑contact with clients, contractors, and multi‑disciplinary design teams
  • Manage multiple engineering projects from design through construction completion
  • Lead, manage, and mentor civil engineers and CAD technicians
  • Use AutoCAD/Civil3D to design, detail, and coordinate medium‑to‑large projects within budget and schedule
  • Attend and lead project meetings during design and construction phases
  • Perform quality control reviews of civil deliverables
  • Provide construction administration: review submittals/shop drawings, respond to RFIs, conduct field observations
  • Track project budgets and review/approve client invoices
  • Participate in collections and accounts receivable efforts
  • Work overtime as needed to meet project deadlines
  • Work in office and field environments, including non‑ADA construction sites and confined spaces
Requirements
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in site development
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Colorado or ability to obtain within 3 months
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Self‑motivated; able to work independently for extended periods
  • Strong written, technical, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Commitment to client service and a team‑based approach
  • High attention to detail with a focus on quality deliverables
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse clients, regulators, and authorities
  • Proven marketing/business development skills
  • Experience using AutoCAD/Civil3D to produce civil construction documents (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of municipal, commercial, and related site development projects (preferred)
  • Ability to work in field conditions: move on non‑ADA construction sites, climb ladders, enter confined spaces, occasionally lift up to 50 lbs, distinguish color, and travel to project sites
  • Ability to attend in‑person meetings and perform site observations during construction
