Job summary

The Fordy Group in Charlotte, NC seeks a senior construction leader with 8–10 years of commercial/industrial experience, including at least 2 years of preconstruction and 5+ years supervising teams. Candidates with industrial, commercial, distribution, manufacturing, or cold storage project exposure and a willingness to travel are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of eight to ten years of commercial or industrial construction experience, including at least two years of preconstruction experience and five plus years of direct supervisory experience.
• Experience with industrial, commercial, distribution, manufacturing, and/or cold storage projects is preferred.
• Willingness to travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Owns and drives the company's construction process across multiple or large-scale projects, ensuring consistent execution.
• Leads key meetings — monthly project reviews, progress meetings, subcontractor coordination, and Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) sessions — setting the tone for clear, confident communication of the project plan.
• Establishes and holds teams accountable to key performance indicators (KPIs), mentoring project managers on best practices.
• Proactively manages complex project risks, including subcontractor performance, financials, bonding, and resource allocation across a portfolio or large project.
• Documents decisions thoroughly in writing across all project areas — budget, schedule, legal, quality, and safety — setting the standard for the broader team.
• Applies deep experience and judgment to anticipate issues before they arise, recommending and driving solutions at a leadership level.
• Directs procurement strategy in alignment with the project schedule; validates pricing and scope, selects bidders, conducts gap analysis against original scope, and oversees subcontract and purchase order issuance.
• Leads budget development and ownership, regularly reviewing costs against budget and driving corrective action to protect financial performance.
• Provides senior-level analysis and negotiation on prime contract and subcontract change orders.
