Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Construction Project Manager that will provide staff support on governmental projects during any phase of design and/or construction. You will oversee validation of products, manage inspections, and coordinate with the General Contractor to ensure scheduling, quality, and budget compliance across projects in the DC Metro region.

This role requires on-site leadership and strong coordination with inspectors and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• BA/BS plus eight years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Previous work experience managing budgets for construction projects.
• Previous experience in a leadership role with strong and proven leadership skills.
• Familiar with construction and project management software programs or other computer skills and functional knowledge of computer programs necessary to assemble presentations that clearly communicate health of the project scope, schedule and budget.

Responsibilities

• Oversee validation of products and materials ordered for projects to verify accordance to specifications.
• Monitor and assess construction performance while recording activities to ensure compliance with documentation requirements.
• Manage inspection work in progress to ensure methods, materials, and equipment conform to approved standards.
• Coordinate and review project documentation, shop drawings, RFIs, and change orders, and incorporate them into the project record.
• Coordinate with the General Contractor to schedule tests and inspections and deliver reports to Owner and Architect.
• Review punch lists and ensure items are completed prior to substantial completion.
• Monitor construction progress and provide engineering support and coordination with inspectors.
• Coordinate site-based meetings and interface with project controls for cost and schedule.
• Lead Change Management Process and approve Pay Applications.
• Document off-site stored materials and gather insurances and bill of sales for pay application review.
• Participate in technical evaluations for A/E, GC and vendor selection.
