Job summary

The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) is seeking an experienced project manager to lead pre-construction activities for complex construction projects in Indianapolis, IN. You will work with the superintendent to ensure client satisfaction and project profitability, exercising sound judgment and independent initiative.

Responsibilities include developing client relations, overseeing budgeting and bidding, and coordinating schedules.

Qualifications

• Degree in construction or related field.
• 5–10 years of construction experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and strengthen client relations.
• Estimate projects from conceptual design through construction documents.
• Oversee bidding activities on projects.
• Provide initial schedules for estimating and bidding.
• Assist the Superintendent with detailed construction scheduling as necessary.
• Negotiate, award, write, and enforce contracts.
• Review project costs with the Superintendent to ensure projects remain within budget.
• Ensure compliance with bond and insurance requirements.
• Maintain subcontractor relationships and assist with conflict resolution.
• Coordinate office department support as required for project needs.
• Coordinate all close-out activities on a timely basis.
• Perform additional assignments per client or management direction.
