Job summary

GAMARC Consulting seeks a Senior CEI Inspector to oversee construction inspections on bridge, roadway, and rail projects in Johnson City, TN. The role requires supervising junior Inspectors, ensuring conformance to plans and specifications, and managing daily field activities with precise record-keeping.

The candidate should have extensive inspection experience, a valid driver's license, and TDOT/ACI certifications.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of inspection experience.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Transportation (bridge, roadway, rail) construction inspection experience.
• OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Training, Radiation Safety/Nuclear Gauge/Hazmat Training, TDOT or ACI Concrete Field Testing, TDOT Aggregate, and TDOT Hot Mix Asphalt Roadway Certifications.
• Experience with Site Manager Software and Roadway Plans preferred.
• Bridge experience preferred.
• Willingness to work overtime, limited nighttime construction, and overnight travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections on bridge, highway, and railroad projects per procedures.
• Provide and oversee inspection services for conformance to plans and specs for roadways and structures.
• Observe, measure, and record construction quantities for contractor payment.
• Record and review field measurements in project records for client or auditors.
• Review traffic control daily.
• Document and distribute weekly project traffic control on required forms.
• Inspect daily erosion control items for compliance and field effectiveness.
• Prepare to justify pay quantities for contractors or clients.
• Prepare and sign daily diary with contractor info, project history, events, equipment and times.
• Supervise field staff and train new Inspectors to company standards.
