Job summary

Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates (HCEA) is seeking an ICC Special Inspector/Experienced Construction Materials Field Technician for our South Plainfield, NJ office. The role emphasizes field observation, testing, and sampling of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, and related materials, with alignment to project plans and specs.

The candidate should have at least 3 years of relevant experience, ICC certifications in specified categories, and a valid driver's license with a reliable

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• ICC Certifications in Soils, Concrete, Masonry, Spray-Applied Fireproofing, etc.
• NJ DCA licenses preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and driving record.
• Reliable vehicle for construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Field observation, testing and sampling of soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, fireproofing, and structural steel placement.
• Review of engineering and construction plans/specifications.
• Communicate results and observations clearly.
