Job summary

Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates (HCEA) is seeking an ICC Special Inspector/Experienced Construction Materials Field Technician for our South Plainfield, NJ office. Primary duties include field observation, testing, sampling and review of soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, fireproofing, and structural steel placement.

Requirements include a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, ICC certifications in at least one category, NJ DCA licenses preferred, a valid driver’s license,

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• ICC Certifications in at least one category (Soils, Reinforced Concrete, Masonry, Spray-Applied Fireproofing, etc.).
• New Jersey DCA licenses preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
• Must meet additional pre-employment criteria.
• Reliable vehicle suitable for use on construction sites.
• Ability to work nights and weekends, as required.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 60-80 pounds.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to interpret engineering and construction plans/specifications.
• Basic math and computer skills.

Special Inspector/Experienced Construction Materials Field Technician

The compensation range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hour based on years of experience and certifications.

We are actively seeking an ICC Special Inspector/Experienced Construction Materials Field Technician for our South Plainfield, NJ office. Primary job functions include field observation, testing, sampling and review of including, but not limited to soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, fireproofing, and structural steel placement.

Requirements
