Job summary

Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) in Leesburg, VA, seeks a Construction Manager to lead on-site construction management, coordinate with the client, and drive project delivery across phases from preconstruction to closeout.

You will manage the PM team, develop budgets and schedules, oversee procurement, risk, safety and quality, mentor engineers, and identify value-add opportunities to meet the client’s objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Cost Estimating or equivalent recognized technical qualification.
• 10 years’ relevant experience in construction cost estimating of a variety of building types from program, conceptual, schematic, design development and construction document stages of design in elemental and CSI format for all architectural, structural, and civil components of new construction and renovation projects.
• Electric System knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage the client and construction/project management team to deliver projects that meet the client’s goals and outcomes.
• Liaise with clients and assist with project-related decisions.
• Plan, organize, and direct the project management functions through all phases: Preconstruction, Construction, Closeout.
• Preconstruction – build the A&E team, design management, schedule management, constructability review, budget development and cost control, contract administration, construction bidding and permitting strategy.
• Construction – manage contractor procurement, risk management, quality assurance, safety, and overall project execution; maintain budget and schedule control.
• Closeout – manage the closeout process meeting project specifications.
• Mentor an internal team of project support or work independently.
• Contribute to team performance through collaboration and communication.
• Identify opportunities to add value to achieve client outcomes.
