Job summary

The Harris County Flood Control District is seeking a senior construction leader to deliver complex flood risk management projects. You will supervise construction staff and consultants, oversee cost controls, scheduling, safety, and quality, and ensure compliance with District requirements through all project phases—from pre-construction to closeout.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years of civil engineering experience, PE licensure in Texas, and strong leadership abilities to coordinate multiple

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited) required.
Ten (10) years of progressive civil engineering experience with design/construction of drainage or infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Lead construction delivery of multiple District capital, Bond Program, maintenance, partnership, and federally funded projects.
Direct construction staff and ensure compliance with contract, scope, schedule, budget, and District standards.
Oversee project transition from pre-construction through closeout and ensure proper documentation and governance.
Monitor project performance and escalate significant issues for action by management.
Coordinate with staff, consultants, and stakeholders to align on risk, safety, quality, and schedule.
