Job summary

Harris County Flood Control District in Houston, TX seeks a Maintenance Engineering Project Manager to direct and implement complex projects within the Maintenance Engineering Department. You will oversee in-house resources and external consultants to support district flood damage reduction efforts, guiding junior engineers as needed.

The role requires six years of progressive civil engineering experience, a BS in civil engineering, and strong project management and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Six years of progressive experience in engineering planning, design, and construction management.
• PE license in Texas preferred; PE may be required for progression.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from inception through construction, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget adherence.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules and milestones.
• Coordinate in-house resources and external consultants; manage contracts and budgets.
• Review designs at major milestones with the team and consultants.
• Engage stakeholders and communicate project status to management and public.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, permits, and environmental considerations are addressed.
