Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Construction Manager to support our growing Construction team in Montgomery, AL. You will oversee field activities, ensure cost, schedule, and quality standards, and mentor junior staff as part of a collaborative, client-focused environment.

The role requires a four-year degree in construction management or construction engineering and a minimum of 10 years of inspection/construction management experience, with strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe, and Bluebeam.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Construction Management or Construction Engineering.
• 10 years of Inspection/Construction Management experience.
• Supervisor and Staff Development experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and document contractor’s work for conformance with the approved documents.
• Establish and implement office procedures related to administration of construction contracts.
• Supervise and mentor more junior staff.
• Implement project controls for drawings, contract correspondence, technical records, and other project documents.
• Monitor and document contractor’s work for safety compliance.
• Coordinate testing on projects.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals.
• Conduct regular project meetings with contractor, owner and stakeholders.
• Prepare monthly or semi-monthly payment requests.
• Prepare and issue change orders on contracts.
• Conduct field evaluations and assessments.
• Coordinate with owner, contractor and design team.
• Address project issues in the field and coordinate solutions.
• Perform constructability review and cost estimates.
• Perform and document final inspections.
• Assist with client development.
