Job summary

Prince George’s County Government is seeking an advanced supervisory engineer to manage complex CIP projects within the Office of Engineering and Project Management. The role requires technical, budgetary, and administrative expertise and a Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, reviewing plans, coordinating with agencies and utilities, and ensuring compliance with county, state, and federal requirements through design to construction closeout.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
Four years of progressive professional experience in the appropriate engineering field, including at least two years in lead/supervisory roles.
A Professional Engineer (PE) License is required.
Must possess a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Supervise engineering and construction management for projects within the County’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
Review construction plans and development proposals to ensure compliance with project scope, standards, and specifications.
Develop concept designs, identify project risks, and prepare cost estimates.
Oversee preparation of technical and contract specifications in accordance with County, state, and federal requirements.
Manage project delivery from design through construction closeout, including scheduling, budgeting, and consultant oversight.
