About the Role

Our client, a prominent and established construction group, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Construction Manager to lead large-scale, complex projects in the Upington, Northern Cape region. This executive-level position requires exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and operational management skills to ensure the successful delivery of diverse construction ventures. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of site operations, including safety, quality, budget management, schedule adherence, and client relations. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with a proven track record of managing multi-million Rand projects from inception to completion, adept at navigating challenging environments and driving project success. Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and management for all construction site activities and personnel.


• Develop and implement comprehensive construction plans, schedules, and budgets.


• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations on all project sites.


• Oversee and manage all subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors, ensuring performance and contractual compliance.


• Monitor project progress, proactively identify and mitigate risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.


• Maintain high standards of quality control throughout the construction process.

• Approve work plans, manage resources effectively, and ensure efficient site operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.


• A minimum of 15 years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 10 years in a senior management role overseeing large projects.


• Demonstrable success in managing projects exceeding R200 million in value.


• Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project), and contract administration.


• Expertise in health, safety, and environmental management systems.


• Strong leadership, negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.


• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.


• Experience working in remote or challenging site conditions is advantageous.


• Must possess a valid driver\'s license and be willing to reside in or frequently travel to Upington, Northern Cape .
