Qualifications

• Procore and BIM 360 proficiency; OSHA 30 certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain master schedule activities and look‑ahead schedules; coordinate with GC/subcontractors.
• Manage site logistics, access, laydown areas, equipment staging and material flow.
• Enforce safety requirements per OSHA; stop‑work authority when needed; coordinate with QA/QC and commissioning teams.
• Provide regular field progress updates to leadership and coordinate with MEP and discipline leads.

Senior Construction Manager – Field Execution

Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager – Field Execution to lead day-to-day construction execution for a large-scale HPC facility in Spartanburg, SC.

This is a hands-on field leadership role responsible for driving construction progress, trade sequencing, site logistics, and schedule execution across all active disciplines. The successful candidate will work directly with the General Contractor, superintendents, trade subcontractors, MEP leadership, and QA/QC and commissioning teams to keep work moving safely and on schedule.

This individual will serve as the primary on-site authority for daily field coordination and construction sequencing.

Key Responsibilities

Field Execution & Scheduling

• Own day-to-day field execution and trade sequencing across the project.
• Maintain and drive master schedule activities and 2-week / 6-week look-ahead schedules.
• Coordinate daily with GC superintendents and trade subcontractors.
• Resolve cross-trade conflicts, sequencing issues, and field constraints before they impact schedule.
• Conduct regular site walks to verify progress against schedule and installation sequence.
• Monitor manpower loading, trade stacking, and productivity across active work areas.

Site Management

• Manage site logistics, access, laydown areas, equipment staging, and material flow.
• Coordinate labor, equipment, and material requirements to support field productivity.
• Identify schedule risks and drive corrective actions in real time.
• Maintain daily field reports documenting progress, manpower, issues, and schedule deviations.
• Ensure field execution aligns with project drawings, coordination plans, and construction requirements.

Safety & Quality Coordination

• Enforce site safety expectations and OSHA requirements across contractor workforces.
• Exercise stop-work authority when unsafe conditions are identified.
• Coordinate with QA/QC and commissioning teams to ensure installed work is ready for inspection and turnover.
• Support readiness milestones and quality walk-downs throughout construction.

Leadership & Coordination

• Provide regular field-progress and schedule updates to the Director of Construction & Commissioning.
• Coordinate with the MEP Technical Manager on system installation sequencing and equipment delivery.
• Work with QA/QC and Commissioning leadership on construction readiness and turnover milestones.
• Represent field execution during OAC, coordination, and stakeholder meetings.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of field construction leadership experience as a Superintendent, Construction Manager, General Superintendent, or similar role.
• Strong experience in commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or data center construction.
• Proven ability to manage multiple trades and resolve complex sequencing issues on active construction sites.
• Hands‑on construction trade background strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of MEP, structural, and architectural construction sequencing.
• Experience with RFIs, coordination drawings, construction documents, and field change management.
• Proficiency with:

• OSHA 30 certification required.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to operate as the on‑site field authority in a fast‑paced construction environment.

Preferred Experience

• Hyperscale data center or HPC construction.
• Mission‑critical infrastructure.
• Large industrial or high‑tech facility construction.
• Experience managing complex MEP‑heavy projects.
• Trade school or technical certification.
• Prior hands‑on trade experience before moving into supervision.

A bachelor's degree is not required. Equivalent field construction and trade experience will be strongly considered.
