Job summary

Atlas Energy Solutions Inc. is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to lead construction delivery for large power generation projects from pre-construction through commissioning.

You will serve as the owner's representative to contractors, manage field teams, and drive safety, quality, and schedule adherence on site. The role requires extensive experience across the full construction lifecycle, strong leadership and communication skills, and willingness to be on site for extended periods.

Qualifications

• BS in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent field experience
• 15+ years of construction experience on large industrial or power projects, including at least 5 years in a senior construction management role
• Experience as an owner's representative over construction contractors on projects over $500 million
• Experience across the full construction lifecycle, from site development and early works through execution and turnover to commissioning
• Experience managing multi building or multi phase construction with large craft workforces
• Working knowledge of civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical construction for industrial or power generation facilities
• Experience with progress verification, pay application review, and construction change management
• Ability to lead a team of managers and to hold contractors accountable while maintaining working relationships
• Effective verbal and written communication with executives, contractors, landowners, public agencies, and customers
• Ability and willingness to be site based for extended periods
• Valid Driver's License

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-construction planning for assigned projects, including the construction execution plan, site logistics plan, laydown and crane strategy
• Own site access and logistics: haul route surveys, heavy haul and oversize permits, road use agreements
• Manage construction real estate needs, including laydown and staging leases, temporary construction easements, and craft parking
• Lead labor force planning: build manpower curve, assess craft availability, and set housing and per diem strategy with contractors
• Define, procure, and manage early works packages such as clearing, grading, drainage, stormwater controls, and temporary power/water
• Support contractor selection with execution evaluations, mobilization readiness reviews, and schedule realism assessments
• Serve as Atlas's designated construction representative to contractors, including meetings, look ahead reviews, and escalation
• Direct assigned Construction Managers and field staff, set daily reporting and progress verification standards
• Verify contractor progress against schedule and coordinate pay application approvals
• Coordinate field changes, RFIs, and design clarifications between construction and engineering
• Coordinate major equipment delivery and turnover with logistics and contractors
• Monitor manpower and schedule recovery plans and enforce safety expectations
• Coordinate permit conditions with permitting consultant and reflect in scopes
• Lead mechanical completion walkdowns and turnover to commissioning
• Review contractor claims and change requests with Contracts
• Report construction status, risks, and decisions to Director and leadership
• Other duties as assigned

How You Will Make an Impact:

The Senior Construction Manager owns construction delivery for assigned power generation projects across the full lifecycle: pre-construction planning, site access and real estate, labor force planning, early works, contractor mobilization, execution oversight, and turnover to commissioning. This position carries a facility execution emphasis: the primary focus is leading construction of engine halls and associated electrical facilities from mobilization through mechanical completion and turnover, while remaining involved in pre-construction and early works from the start and working as one team with the Senior Construction Manager focused on the front end. The role is Atlas's designated construction representative to contractors for whatever scope it is assigned.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-construction planning for assigned projects, including the construction execution plan, site logistics plan, laydown and crane strategy, and constructability and sequencing input to design reviews while changes are still inexpensive.
• Own site access and logistics: haul route surveys, heavy haul and oversize permits, road use agreements, entrance permits, and delivery sequencing for major equipment.
• Manage construction real estate needs, including laydown and staging leases, temporary construction easements, craft parking, and construction boundaries with adjacent third party work.
• Lead labor force planning: build and maintain the manpower curve, assess regional craft availability, and set the craft housing, per diem, and local hire strategy with construction contractors.
• Define, procure, and manage early works packages such as clearing, grading, drainage, stormwater controls, temporary power and water, site security, and aggregate sourcing.
• Support contractor selection with construction execution evaluation, mobilization readiness reviews, and schedule realism assessments.
• Serve as Atlas's designated construction representative to construction contractors for assigned projects or stages, including weekly construction meetings, look ahead reviews, and issue escalation.
• Direct assigned Construction Managers and field staff, set daily reporting and progress verification standards, and assign coverage across projects, stages, and buildings.
• Verify contractor progress against the schedule and recommend or withhold pay application approval in coordination with Project Controls and QA/QC.
• Coordinate field changes, RFIs, and design clarifications between construction contractors and engineering, and ensure dispositions are timely and documented.
• Coordinate major equipment delivery, installation, and care, custody, and control transfer with the CFE Logistics & Materials Coordinator and construction contractors.
• Monitor manpower, productivity, and schedule recovery plans and hold contractors to commitments.
• Enforce Atlas safety expectations on site for all contractors, review incident reports, and exercise stop work authority.
• Coordinate permit conditions affecting construction (stormwater, air, county, and utility) with the permitting consultant and ensure they are reflected in construction scopes and field practice.
• Lead mechanical completion walkdowns and the construction to commissioning turnover of each system with the Systems Completion & Turnover Coordinator.
• Review contractor claims, notices, and change requests with the Contracts function and provide construction fact finding.
• Report construction status, risks, and decisions needed to the Director and project leadership.
• Other duties as assigned.
