Job summary

gpac is seeking 4Construction Inspectors for a Troy, MI, field+office role with a permanent, full-time path. You will inspect utilities, roadways and bridges, read plans, monitor compliance, and prepare daily reports.

This client-facing position requires MDOT knowledge, FieldBook/FieldManager usage, and strong QA/QC discipline. We offer long-term work on multi-year projects, an employee-owned environment, 401(k) and health benefits, PTO, bonus potential, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction inspection experience on transportation and municipal projects.
• MDOT certifications a plus: FieldManager, Density, Aggregate, HMA, Concrete, Bridge Deck/Rehab Inspection; MCA Level 1; SESC Comprehensive; Storm Water Operator
• Valid driver's license with a clean record; willing to work outdoors and overtime as needed
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Inspect underground utilities (water main, sanitary sewer, storm), roadway, pathway and bridge work for acceptability
• Read and interpret plans, drawings, specifications and contractor submittals; monitor work for compliance
• Measure, calculate and document quantities of installed materials; verify materials meet specs and testing requirements
• Follow QA/QC procedures and report contractor deficiencies to the Project Engineer
• Prepare daily inspector reports in FieldBook/FieldManager and review reports from other technicians
• Work daily with contractors, engineers, clients and agency representatives
