Job summary

GPI is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector for our Michigan team in Grand Rapids. You will inspect and document work to ensure compliance with MDOT standards and project plans, coordinating with contractors and engineers on a day-to-day basis.

Qualified candidates bring 10 years of field experience in bridge and roadway projects, MDOT certifications, and strong documentation and planning skills to support constructability reviews and RFI responses.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of field experience in bridge deck/bridge rehab, roadway construction, and related testing.
• All applicable MDOT certifications and experience with MDOT documentation.
• Ability to read plans, collect field data, and document progress per contract requirements.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, observe, document, and verify work to ensure compliance with schedule, plans, and specs.
• Prepare daily reports, photos, and process monthly pay applications.
• Review contract changes and respond to RFIs; coordinate with engineers and contractors.
• Coordinate materials testing and perform constructability reviews as needed.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and assist in estimating work.
