gpac is seeking a Field Inspector for Farmington Hills, MI, offering a permanent, full-time role with an hourly rate of $30–$40 DOE and a signing bonus. The position entails inspecting utilities, roadways, bridges, and related infrastructure, reading plans, and ensuring compliance with specifications.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of transportation/municipal inspection, MDOT certification a plus, and proficiency with Bluebeam, FieldBook, Excel, and Word. Outdoor work and overtime are expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction inspection experience on transportation and/or municipal projects.
• MDOT certifications a plus: FieldManager, Density, Aggregate, HMA, Concrete, Bridge Deck/Rehab Inspection; MCA Level 1; SESC Comprehensive; Storm Water Operator.
• Bluebeam, FieldBook, Excel and Word skills.

Responsabilités

• Inspect underground utilities (water main, sanitary sewer, storm), roadway, pathway and bridge work for acceptability.
• Read and interpret plans, drawings, specifications and contractor submittals; monitor work for compliance.
• Measure, calculate and document quantities of installed materials; verify materials meet specs and testing requirements.
• Follow QA/QC procedures and report contractor deficiencies to the Project Engineer.
• Prepare daily inspector reports in FieldBook/FieldManager and review reports from other technicians.
• Work daily with contractors, engineers, clients and agency representatives.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

• Roadway and/or bridge construction inspection experience; knowledge of MDOT, State and Federal delivery practices
• Associate’s in Civil Technology or Bachelor's in Construction Management/Civil Engineering preferred, not required
• MDOT certifications a plus: FieldManager, Density, Aggregate, HMA, Concrete, Bridge Deck/Rehab Inspection; MCA Level 1; SESC Comprehensive; Storm Water Operator
• Bluebeam, FieldBook, Excel and Word skills
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record; willing to work outdoors and overtime as needed
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
