Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Transportation Engineering Technician (TET) V/Construction Inspector to join our Columbia, MD office. You will support MD SHA Roadway and Bridge projects through on-site inspections, testing, and documentation to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.

The role requires field proficiency, the ability to work nights/weekends as needed, and strong communication with project teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5 years of roadway and bridge construction experience.
• Knowledge of ASTM and ACI testing requirements and inspection procedures.
• Familiarity with MDOT/SHA/MDTA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily site inspections to ensure compliance with plans and specs.
• Conduct field tests on materials (slump, air content, compaction).
• Measure and record pay items and contractor progress.
• Prepare daily inspection reports and logs with site details.
• Coordinate with owners, utilities, and agencies on field changes.
• Demonstrate independent problem solving on site.
