Job summary

WSP Global Inc. seeks a Transportation Engineering Technician (TET) V/ Construction Inspector in Columbia, MD to support the Construction Management team on SHA projects. You will perform daily site inspections, field testing, and documentation to ensure compliance with plans, specs, and safety requirements.

The role requires 5 years of roadway/bridge experience, MDOT/SHA/MDTA familiarity preferred, and strong verbal and written communication skills. Travel and variable hours may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 5 years of roadway and bridge construction experience.
• Experience with MDOT/SHA/MDTA preferred.
• Knowledge of ASTM/ACI testing and inspection procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily site inspections of contractors' work on highway and bridge projects to ensure compliance with plans and specs.
• Conduct field tests such as slump, air content, and compaction tests.
• Record materials and pay items; prepare daily inspection reports and logs.
• Work nights and weekends as needed; communicate field conflicts to the Owner; collaborate with team and agencies.
