Job summary

T&M Associates in Bloomfield, NJ is seeking a Supervising Construction Inspector to serve as the Owner’s on-site representative during municipal and county infrastructure projects within a one-hour travel radius. This senior role ensures work aligns with approved plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include inspecting roadway reconstructions, utilities, water and sewer work, drainage, and site development, preparing field reports, and guiding junior inspectors

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive construction inspection experience, preferably on municipal or public works projects.
• PE license or NICET Levels I–IV certifications preferred.
• Experience with public works, roadway, utility, grading, and drainage projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Owner’s on-site representative during construction.
• Perform inspection and administration for roadway reconstruction, utilities, water and sewer systems, concrete work, grading, drainage structures, and site development.
• Ensure contractor compliance with plans, specifications, and applicable regulations.
• Prepare and maintain daily field reports and inspection documentation.
• Identify and resolve field issues while coordinating with contractors, project managers, and municipal representatives.
• Provide guidance or oversight to junior inspectors or project team members when needed.
