Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation's Mount Pleasant Area Office is seeking Construction Inspector I–III to monitor roadway projects across Camp, Morris, Titus and Upshur counties. You will inspect methods and workmanship, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and safety standards, under a licensed engineer's supervision.

This is a full-time, onsite role with opportunities to learn and grow in highway construction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Construction Inspector I: no experience required.
• Construction Inspector II: 1 year in construction, maintenance/repairs, inspection, or related experience.
• Construction Inspector III: 2 years in construction, maintenance/repairs, inspection, or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction methods to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
• Monitor work zone traffic control and safety requirements.
• Document project activities and maintain project records.
• Prepare estimates and reports; assist with project coordination.
• Assist with engineering-related inspections and field reviews.
