Job summary

Oregon Department of Transportation, Delivery & Operations Division – Region 5, Construction Section / Project Management, Ontario, seeks an Engineering Specialist 2 – Construction Inspector 4. The role combines field inspections, contract administration and surveying support on transportation projects across the Eastern Oregon Border Economic Region.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in engineering field related to construction inspection, surveying, or contract administration.
• An associate degree in engineering (civil or transportation) with one year of engineering technician experience; or a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Driving is an essential function; valid U.S. driver license and acceptable driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine field, office and inspection work on transportation, construction, and maintenance projects.
• Ensure daily contract compliance and contractor documentation; direct inspection/survey personnel.
• Inspect construction sites and materials for quantity, quality, and conformance to specifications.
• Travel to project sites and meetings to perform duties; document records for final acceptance.
