Urban Engineers, Inc. in Hartford, CT is seeking a Chief Construction Inspector to lead the Construction Inspection Department. The role involves inspecting all project work within contract limits to ensure compliance with plans and specs, and coordinating with clients, contractors, and utilities.

The ideal candidate holds CT PE or equivalent (with reciprocity in 6 months), NICET TC I-IV or CCM, and a BS in Civil Engineering preferred. On-site work across CTDOT projects is required.

Qualifications

• PE license in CT or reciprocity within 6 months.
• NICET TC I-IV or CCM.
• BS in Civil Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect all construction within project limits to ensure conformance with contract plans and specs.
• Monitor and document all work by Contractor, subcontractors, utilities, railroads, and agencies.
• Interface with inspections staff, Client and Contractors on all facets of the project.
• Perform daily construction inspection of work activities.
• Complete daily reports, quantity calculations, and reports for construction work observed.
• Supervise and manage construction inspectors.
