The PWC Department of Fire & Rescue Fire Marshal's Office is looking for top quality candidates who would be responsible for fire prevention in new and existing construction. We are seeking two Senior Construction Inspectors as part of a team that covers fire protection systems, controls, and devices for compliance with approved plans and the state building and fire codes.
About This Role:
The successful candidate will have primary and secondary contact with contractors, project managers, elected officials, businesses, and other county agencies that engage with the Office of the Fire Marshal. The selected individual will be a subject matter expert (SME) in the Uniform Statewide Building Code (USBC) and NFPA standards related to Fire and Life Safety systems, and the Virginia Statewide Fire Prevention Code (VSFPC). The candidate will be a dynamic and adaptable individual that can multitask, de-escalate negative situations, manage expectations, and understand the county services related to the FMO. In addition, the candidate must be detail oriented, possess a high level of integrity, and be able to communicate well.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or G.E.D. and 3 years of related experience.
