Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced estimator to produce accurate quantity take-offs and pricing for projects in the United States. You will review plans and specifications, apply work breakdown structures, and coordinate pricing with vendors to build budgets for basic elements.

The role supports senior staff and contributes to pricing models across multiple bids. Travel is anticipated at 10% or less, with occasional site visits and collaboration across design teams.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; 5 years related experience or equivalent
• Ability to read and comprehend drawings and specifications
• Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and pricing practices

Responsibilities

• Produces accurate quantity and material take-offs from plans and specs for estimates
• Enter quantities and unit prices and apply WBS
• Coordinate material pricing with vendors and prepare pricing for basic elements
• Contact subcontractors and suppliers for outsource pricing and develop pricing models
• Support conceptual estimating and develop basic models for senior review
• Develop budgets and purchasing plans with minimal oversight
