Job summary

Jobot is seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team. The role focuses on estimating work with f inancial risk, forecasting costs for utilities and materials, and coordinating bid pricing from multiple vendors.

The ideal candidate will have 5–7+ years in construction estimating, experience with government contracting, and strong analytical abilities. Travel may be required; DBIDS eligibility is a plus. This full-time position offers growth and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of experience in construction estimating.
• Government contracting experience preferred.
• Experience with estimating methods, accounting, and document organization.
• Ability to read/understand construction drawings and documents.
• Quantity take-offs experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication and vendor relations.
• Some periodic travel for site visits may be required.
• Must be able to obtain DBIDS.
• Strong accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings, specs, proposals to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
• Prepare estimates for selecting vendors or subcontractors.
• Review material and labor requirements for cost-effectiveness.
• Prepare cost and expenditure statements for project duration.
• Assess cost effectiveness and track actual costs against bids.
• Consult with clients, vendors, and subs to resolve issues.
• Conduct studies to develop standard cost data and reductions.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors on changes.
