Job summary

Chesapeake Contracting Group in Annapolis, MD is seeking an experienced Estimator to analyze project documents, perform quantity takeoffs, and develop competitive cost estimates for bids.

You will coordinate with the bid team, identify risk, manage subcontractor proposals, and turnover awarded projects to PMs. Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years estimating required; On-Screen Takeoff and MS Office proficiency essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction mgmt, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5+ years estimating or relevant project experience.
• Proficient with On-Screen Takeoff and MS Office.
• Strong mathematical and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and specs to confirm complete scope.
• Identify risk issues and quantify their magnitude.
• Manage responses to invitations to bid.
• Perform quantity takeoff.
• Develop tab sheets and bid tabulations for own trade assignments.
• Coordinate scopes of work with bid team.
• Prepare qualifications/exclusions for each assigned trade.
• Build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers reflecting company values.
• Attend subcontractor networking events.
