Job summary

Benderson Development in Sarasota, FL is seeking a Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of commercial estimating experience, preferably with a general contractor or developer, and will handle estimating for new construction and build-outs while coordinating with internal departments.

A four-year Civil Engineering or Construction degree (or equivalent) and strong analytical/communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of commercial estimating experience, preferably with a general contractor or developer.
• Four-year Civil Engineering, Construction, or related degree or equivalent.
• Strong analytical and verbal/written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare detailed cost estimates including quantity takeoffs and subcontractor summaries by division.
• Coordinate with internal departments and build a base of subcontractors.
• Develop budgets using historical data, unit pricing, and vendor proposals.
• Review budgets with supervisors and maintain up-to-date unit prices.
• Verify existing conditions and incorporate into budgets.
