Job summary

Jobot in the United States is seeking a seasoned Estimator to join our construction team. The role focuses on creating accurate estimates and competitive bids from blueprints and specifications, coordinating with clients and vendors to resolve issues, and maintaining pricing data for ongoing projects.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of estimation experience, a degree in construction management or engineering preferred, and strong analytical and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in estimation.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering preferred.
• Proven experience in project estimation and blueprint reading.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in estimating software.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive project estimates and bids from blueprints, specs, and related documents.
• Analyze plans to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or foremen to discuss and resolve issues.
• Conduct studies to develop standard hour and cost data or cost reductions.
• Review material and labor requirements for cost-effectiveness.
• Prepare cost and expenditure statements for project duration.
• Track actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
• Maintain a pricing information database.
