Responsabilidades

Role Description

The Senior Construction Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in San Juan, Puerto Rico. This position is responsible for preparing detailed estimates for construction projects, including performing quantity take-offs, analyzing drawings and specifications, and developing accurate cost projections. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating with project managers and engineers, soliciting and evaluating subcontractor and vendor bids, and updating budgets throughout the project lifecycle. The Senior Construction Estimator will prepare bid proposals, participate in pre-construction meetings, and support value engineering efforts to optimize project costs while maintaining quality. The role also involves maintaining estimating databases, tracking market pricing trends, and communicating estimate assumptions and risks clearly to internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Construction Estimating and Quantity Take-offs for a variety of building types and scopes.
• Candidates should possess skills in Cost Management and Budgeting to develop, monitor, and adjust project financials effectively.
• Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills to collaborate with project teams, suppliers, and subcontractors and to present estimates clearly.
• Candidates should possess proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and digital plan review tools.
• Several years of proven experience as a Construction Estimator, preferably in a senior or lead role.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, codes, and local market pricing.
• Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple estimates and deadlines concurrently.
• Relevant technical degree or certification in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Commitment to ethical practices, workplace safety, and inclusive, respectful collaboration.
