Job summary

UNICO Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Senior Construction Engineer with 4+ years of experience to support Resident Engineers in delivering transportation projects across Northern and Central California.

The role requires familiarity with Caltrans and local agency standards, and responsibilities include meetings, plan reviews, and maintaining project documentation. Candidates should possess a CA PE license or equivalent experience, with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Registered as a California Professional Engineer (PE).
• BS in Construction Management, Civil, or Structural Engineering with four years of relevant construction engineering experience, OR ten years of experience.
• Experience with Caltrans and local agency standards.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Attend client and contractor meetings.
• Review plans and specifications for compliance.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation (letters, RFIs, submittals, change orders).
• Manage and forecast project budgets; maintain as-built drawings; prepare final closeout documents.
