Job summary

FrankCrum is seeking a Sr. Construction Defect Claims Adjuster to handle the most complex construction defect claims, including litigated matters and large projects, with a focus on cost-effective strategies and timely resolution.

The role requires deep knowledge of construction defect coverage issues, risk transfer, and strong negotiation skills to coordinate with defense counsel, insureds, and insurers while maintaining reserves and engaging in proactive claim management.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of construction defect claims handling.
• Familiarity with insurance policies and applicable regulations in multiple states.
• Experience with sub-contractors and additional insured tenders.
• Ability to interpret contracts and manage time-sensitive claims.

Responsibilities

• Investigates, evaluates and resolves complex construction defect claims, many litigated or large projects.
• Handles complex coverage issues including sub-contractors and additional insureds.
• Interprets construction contracts and applies risk transfer where appropriate.
• Negotiates time on risk, the duty to defend and indemnify with liable insurers.
• Manages litigation proactively with defense counsel and insureds.
• Uses ADR techniques to obtain optimal outcomes, such as settlements and offers of judgment.
• Responds to time-limit demands, complaints and regulatory notices promptly.
• Reviews damage reports to assess property damage and construction defects.
• Mentors junior team members and identifies process improvements.
• Collaborates with underwriting and other departments as needed.
