Job summary

HNTB Corporation in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a seasoned cost estimator to prepare detailed cost estimates for large, complex projects. You will work with project managers to ensure estimates meet financial and regulatory guidelines, using the Cost Breakdown Structure and historical data.

You will develop duration estimates, analyze drawings and specs, and support procurement and change orders. AACE/CPE CEP certifications are preferred and experience with design-build is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field plus 6 years of relevant experience
• Or 10 years of relevant cost-estimating experience in lieu of education

Responsibilities

• Performs detailed cost estimates using the Cost Breakdown Structure and historical data
• Prepares detailed breakdowns of components and elements for systems and subsystems
• Develops conceptual and definitive cost estimates for projects
• Collaborates with scheduling to align estimates with construction schedules
• Reviews specifications and drawings to calculate total construction cost
• Supports procurement documents related to Estimating Specifications
• Participates in client presentations as required
• Assists with price negotiations and cost information gathering
