Job summary

HNTB is seeking an estimator to perform routine estimating assignments under close supervision, projecting the cost of upcoming projects and preparing economic analyses. Responsibilities include takingoffs, labor/material/equipment cost estimates, data collection from vendors, and developing cost models with guidance from senior estimators.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field or 4 years of relevant cost-estimating experience, with a focus on accurate, data-driven estimates

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field, or
• In lieu of education, 4 years relevant experience with the development of cost estimates

Responsibilities

• Analyzes bid and design documents to perform quantity takeoffs to support labor, equipment, and material cost development.
• Estimates labor, material and equipment costs of construction based on design drawings and specifications.
• Collects construction cost data from functional representatives, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Gathers and utilizes industry data/publications for estimating purposes.
• Uses estimating software to support the development of cost estimates with guidance from lead/senior estimators.
• Creates cost models for cost estimating elements.
• Supports the preparation of independent cost estimates as part of change management, claims analysis, and price negotiations.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field
