Job summary

Linbeck Group in Houston is seeking a Sr. Cost Analyst to lead comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects, including quantity takeoffs, labor, equipment, and material costs.

You will manage the full bid process, review subcontractor bids, and ensure alignment with budgets and timelines. This role requires a bachelor’s degree in construction/engineering, 8+ years of estimator experience, and strong negotiation skills; on-site work and after-hours support may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction-related field is required.
• Minimum of 8 years of construction experience as an estimator.
• Proficiency with estimation software (Destini Estimator preferred).
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, materials, and codes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of comprehensive cost estimates for projects, including quantity takeoffs, labor, equipment, and material costs.
• Manage the full bid process, including bid package development, subcontractor bid solicitation/review, and client proposals.
• Analyze plans and specifications to ensure accurate estimation of all components.
• Identify potential cost savings and provide practical solutions without compromising quality.
• Collaborate with subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and clarify scope.
• Coordinate with Client Executives, Project Managers, and Superintendents to align with budgets and timelines.
• Identify project risks and propose contingencies to minimize exposure during bidding and execution.
• Provide guidance and training to Estimators to ensure consistency in estimates.
