Job summary

Frontier-Kemper, a Tutor Perini Company, is seeking an Assistant Controller in Evansville, Indiana. You will oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls for a business unit generating over $500 million in annual revenue.

This role leads a finance team, manages monthly closes, cash management, and SOX compliance, while providing timely financial insights and recommendations to improve performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting is required; CPA preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive management experience in accounting and finance within the construction industry.
• Strong Excel skills; experience with JD Edwards, Hyperion, and Essbase.
• Ability to lead a team and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership across the business unit for all accounting and controllership operations, and lead a high-performing finance team.
• Lead the monthly close process for construction operations and prepare GAAP financial statements with variance analyses.
• Oversee cash management, banking activities, cash forecasting, and reporting to the parent company.
• Establish and maintain a strong internal control environment with SOX compliance; liaise with external audit firms.
• Drive continuous improvement, automation, and productivity in the finance function.
• Maintain deep technical accounting knowledge, including revenue recognition and change orders under GAAP.
• Provide executive management with timely, accurate financial insights and actionable recommendations.
• Lead and participate in special projects and ad hoc initiatives as needed.
