Job summary

Frontier-Kemper, a Tutor Perini Company, is seeking an Assistant Controller in Evansville, IN. The role oversees accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls for a unit generating over $500M in revenue, supervising accounting staff and coordinating audits.

You will drive monthly closes, provide insightful analysis to leadership, and lead continuous improvement across the finance function in a fast-paced construction environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance management in construction.
• Strong Excel skills; experience with JD Edwards, Hyperion and Essbase preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership across the business unit for all accounting and controllership operations.
• Lead monthly close process for construction operations and GAAP reporting.
• Prepare financial analyses and management commentary on variances.
• Oversee cash management, banking, forecasting, and reporting to the parent company.
• Maintain internal controls aligned with SOX and public company requirements.
• Coordinate with external auditors for quarterly/annual audits and remediate risks.
• Drive process improvements, automation, and productivity in the finance function.
• Maintain technical accounting knowledge on revenue recognition and change orders.
