Job summary

Frontier-Kemper, a Tutor Perini Company, seeks an Assistant Controller in Evansville, Indiana to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls for a business unit generating substantial revenue.

You will lead monthly closes, manage a finance team, ensure GAAP compliance, and deliver actionable insights to executive management to drive performance and risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is required; CPA preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance leadership in construction.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with JD Edwards, Hyperion, and Essbase.
• Hands-on approach with ability to lead a team and drive initiatives.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to interact with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership across the business unit for all accounting and controllership operations.
• Lead the monthly close process for construction operations with GAAP-compliant reporting.
• Prepare analyses and management commentary explaining variances and performance.
• Oversee cash management, banking, and forecasting; report to parent company.
• Maintain internal controls and SOX compliance; liaise with external auditors.
• Drive continuous improvement in finance through automation and process optimization.
• Maintain technical accounting expertise (revenue recognition, change orders, GAAP).
• Provide timely financial/operational insights to executive management.
