Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Construction Services Leader to lead CEI efforts in western Virginia and expand our practice statewide. You will guide project teams, mentor staff, and collaborate with leadership to deliver transportation design-build and CEI services for state agencies.

The role emphasizes client engagement, strategic growth in Virginia, and delivering high-quality construction management and inspection services for highway and bridge projects.

Qualifications

• Fifteen (15) + years of experience in engineering services with leadership responsibilities.
• Bachelor's degree in civil/environmental engineering or related field.
• Experience delivering CEI road/bridge projects for transportation agencies.
• Active participation in professional engineering/construction societies.
• Strong technical and proposal writing skills; able to articulate ideas clearly.
• Professional Engineering license in VA and/or CCM certification.

Responsibilities

• Represent RK&K in Virginia on design, construction, and maintenance projects.
• Develop a business strategy within Virginia with firm leadership.
• Interface with clients and agencies to pursue, win, and execute projects.
• Identify opportunities by networking with potential clients in transportation.
• Negotiate scopes, schedules, and budgets for diverse projects.
• Mentor staff, provide growth opportunities, and conduct evaluations.
• Lead construction management/inspection teams to meet client expectations.
• Provide senior CEI expertise from highway to bridge projects and contract docs.
• Offer CM SME support on road/bridge projects, especially design-build.
• Engage with sub-consultants and partners to deliver solutions.
