Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Leader in Structural Engineering to join our Virginia team. You will spearhead our structural pursuits and projects for transportation, leveraging Virginia/VDOT and municipal experience.

The role demands proactive leadership, creative problem-solving, and hands-on bridge design and field operations. You will mentor staff, guide proposal development, and coordinate with clients while delivering design documents and construction plans.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering as required.
Minimum 15 years of bridge design experience.
Excellent communication skills including proposal development.
Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Virginia.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage our structural design and engineering group across Virginia.
Support Business Development, Marketing and Team to secure new workload.
Prepare contract documents for construction and oversee construction administration.
Serve as Project/Program Manager on structure-related projects.
Produce construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates when applicable.
Facilitate internal and client meetings, presentations and plan approvals.
Provide QA/QC for design completeness and accuracy.
Provide bridge inspection services as needed.
Mentor entry-level and junior structural engineers.
