Job summary

RK&K is seeking an experienced Project/Construction Manager for Heavy Civil, Highway, and Transportation projects in the Knoxville/Tri-Cities Tennessee area. You will lead the CEI team, manage contract administration, and guide multi-discipline project delivery with clients and subconsultants.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years in roadway/structures construction, 5+ years TN/TDOT CM experience (or 10+ years CM), and strong knowledge of field methods, QA/QC, and contract interpretation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 15+ years in roadway and structures construction.
• 5+ years managing construction projects in Tennessee or 10+ years CM with TDOT.
• Advanced knowledge of civil engineering practices, materials, equipment.
• Ability to train and supervise inspection technicians.
• Statewide travel with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage roadway and bridge projects to ensure contract compliance.
• Manage heavy civil, highway and bridge projects, including leading teams.
• Participate in Preconstruction Services (scoping, utility conflicts, constructability & biddability).
• Monitor project progress and adherence to plans and specifications.
• Ensure CM/CEI members’ training and equipment needs are met.
• Support business development activities.
• Recruit and develop area Construction Management/CEI staff.
• Demonstrate knowledge of on-call service contracts and mining contracts.
• Maintain high integrity and ethics in dealings with clients and peers.
