Job summary

Everest Insurance Company is seeking an AVP, Construction Underwriter in Atlanta, GA or New York, NY. You will lead underwriting for construction-based casualty risks, building and managing broker relationships and coordinating with claims, actuarial, and risk engineering teams.

The role requires 3–5 years in casualty underwriting with construction experience and a bachelor’s degree preferred. The base salary ranges from $150,000 to $190,000 annually, with comprehensive benefits and growth

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of casualty underwriting experience, with construction experience preferred.
• Experience with wrap-up programs, project-specific placements and annually renewable contractor programs.
• Existing market relationships with construction casualty producers and agents.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and price Lead Umbrella and Excess Casualty for US construction-based risks.
• Cultivate relationships with brokers, clients and industry stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Claims, Actuarial, Risk Engineering, and Sales to meet service and underwriting goals.
• Maintain portfolio discipline and profitability through robust risk assessment.
• Ensure thorough file documentation and timely risk analysis for construction accounts.
• Grow the construction excess portfolio within preferred casualty segments.
• Support industry practice initiatives across the organization.
