Job summary

CBX Solutions, LLC in Charleston, SC is seeking a Sr. Project Accountant to own the financial administration of assigned construction projects from contract award through closeout, including contract billing, pay applications, and job cost reconciliation.

This role partners with Project Managers, Sales, and Accounting leadership to protect margins and ensure timely revenue recognition, while guiding junior staff and supporting accurate project closeouts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent
• Progressive experience in project/construction accounting including pay applications and job reconciliation
• Experience with construction/contract accounting or ERP software preferred

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end contract billing and pay applications for assigned projects
• Reconcile job costs and revenue; identify variances and WIP discrepancies
• Process change orders; resolve billing disputes and missing material issues
• Gatekeeper for project closeouts; ensure contractual and billing requirements are met
• Own inventory reconciliation tied to projects and resolve discrepancies
• Analyze project financials; identify risk or billing exposure and elevate issues
• Review work of Project Accountants; provide guidance and escalation
• Ensure terms reflected in billing and revenue recognition in collaboration with PMs, Sales, and Accounting leadership
• Other duties as assigned
