Geffen Mesher and Company, PC (GMCO) seeks an experienced Assurance Manager, Construction to lead construction audits and related assurance engagements for contractor clients. You will guide complex accounting issues, manage engagement economics, and mentor staff while building strong client relationships in a fast-paced public accounting setting.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in assurance/audit, CPA licensure, and deep construction accounting expertise, including revenue recognition, WIP, and

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of public accounting assurance/audit with leadership experience.
• Active CPA license required.
• Construction expertise in construction contractors and ASC 606 knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage construction audit, review, and assurance engagements across the full lifecycle.
• Provide technical guidance on complex construction accounting issues and WIP/job cost reporting.
• Oversee engagement economics: pricing, budgeting, staffing, and profitability targets.
• Develop client relationships with senior executives and address audit findings and regulatory changes.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting and internal controls for construction clients.
• Collaborate with tax, advisory, outsourced accounting, and consulting teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Support recruiting, training, and development of staff; foster a collaborative team culture.
