Geffen Mesher and Company, PC (GMCO) in Portland, OR seeks an experienced Assurance Senior to lead audit, review, and assurance engagements from planning to completion. You will supervise staff, review deliverables, and partner with managers and shareholders to deliver high-quality services.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in public accounting, strong knowledge of GAAP/GAAS, and CPA pursuit or certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 3+ years of recent public accounting experience in assurance, audit, or attest services with demonstrated progression in responsibility and engagement leadership.
• CPA license preferred or actively pursuing CPA certification.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, GAAS, financial reporting requirements, auditing procedures, and assurance methodologies.
• Leadership demonstrated supervising and developing staff, leading engagement teams, and managing multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead engagement execution throughout the assurance lifecycle, coordinating planning, fieldwork, and timely completion per standards.
• Serve as engagement in-charge, overseeing day-to-day activities and team priorities.
• Perform detailed reviews of staff workpapers and client deliverables for accuracy and compliance.
• Manage engagement budgets and timelines, monitoring hours and scope changes.
• Apply professional judgment to identify accounting and auditing issues and develop recommendations.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and understanding of client operations.
