Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Construction Accounting Manager based in San Francisco to lead accounting operations for complex Bay Area projects. You will oversee the general ledger, A/P, A/R, payroll support, and month-end close while ensuring accurate revenue recognition in a construction environment.

This hands-on role partners with project managers and executives, drives financial reporting, project costing, WIP schedules, and process improvements, and mentors the accounting team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
• Construction, real estate development, engineering, or project-based accounting experience strongly preferred.
• CPA or CPA-track candidates encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, and month-end close.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Review and analyze project financial performance, job costs, budgets, and WIP schedules.
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition and construction accounting practices.
• Lead account reconciliations and maintain strong internal controls.
• Partner with project managers and operational leaders on forecasting and financial performance.
• Assist with cash flow management and financial planning.
• Coordinate audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements.
• Mentor and develop accounting staff while helping improve processes and efficiencies.
