Jobot is seeking a Senior Accountant to join a growing construction-focused organization in the Colorado Springs area. The role works closely with the CFO and Accounting team, handling core accounting functions in a fast-paced, on-site environment. The CFO envisions future growth into Controller/CFO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years in a senior-level finance/accounting role, preferably construction.
• Experience managing Work in Progress (WIP) schedules.
• Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles and procedures.
• Proficiency in creating and analyzing monthly financial reports.
• Advanced skills in MS Office, accounting software, and databases.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
• Ability to work closely with senior management.
• CPA or CMA certification is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the accounting department.
• Prepare and review all monthly financial reports per GAAP.
• Analyze and report financial status; communicate results to management; budget preparation and analysis.
• Implement and maintain Work in Progress (WIP) schedules.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions.
• Manage tax planning and compliance across federal, state, local, payroll, and other taxes.
• Coordinate and manage construction accounting: revenue and costs at project level.
• Coordinate and complete annual audits.
• Maintain fiscal files and records documenting transactions.
• Continually improve processes and systems to increase reporting accuracy and data analysis.
