Job summary

Selby Jennings is seeking a Senior Consolidations Accountant to join its corporate accounting team at its Austin headquarters. This role will lead close processes, prepare journal entries, and support consolidated financial reporting while ensuring compliance with GAAP and SOX controls.

The candidate will collaborate with Finance, Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit, and external auditors, and assist with SEC filings and MD&A disclosures.

Qualifications

• Active CPA license required.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent field.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting or financial reporting experience in a public company or public accounting environment.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to work with senior leadership, tax professionals, auditors, and cross-functional teams.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including journal entries and reporting packages.
• Assist in preparing consolidated financial statements and variance analyses.
• Support financial statements and schedules for earnings releases and current reporting.
• Collaborate with Finance, Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit and other functions.
• Work with external auditors and provide schedules during audits.
• Conduct technical accounting research under U.S. GAAP and assist SOX compliance.
• Participate in special projects like business combinations and intercompany matters.
• Assist with SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K) and MD&A.
