Job summary

Amphenol Industrial, based in Endicott, NY, seeks a Senior Design Engineer to lead the technical aspects of product design from concept through launch. The role emphasizes plastics and metals design, LEAN product development, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver innovative, high-quality connectors that meet customer and industry standards.

The engineer will mentor teammates, drive decisions, and manage design documentation, using SolidWorks/CREO and ePDM.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
Minimum 5 years of experience in connector product design.
Proficiency with SolidWorks and CREO; ability to create engineering drawings; apply GD&T.
Experience with MIL/IEC standards for connectors and prototyping methods including 3D printing.
Strong communication skills and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Eligible to work in the U.S. (sponsorship not available).

Responsibilities

Owns the entire product design lifecycle from ideation to launch with lean product development.
Develop concepts and select efficient methods for design execution.
Create and maintain BOMs, ECNs, drawings, and models using SolidWorks or CREO and ePDM.
Apply design expertise for plastics and metals; knowledge of injection molding and stamping.
Perform GD&T tolerance analysis to ensure manufacturability.
Develop test plans and oversee connector testing and qualification.
